Be Mine Forever (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Trey de Luca is the youngest in his family and a self proclaimed bachelor. He doesn’t do commitment and is determined to stay away from his home town as often as possible. When he meets Sara Reed, a widow, single mother and dance instructor, all his preconceived notions and idea are put to the test. This is the fourth book in the St. Helena Vineyard series. All the books center around a different couple but they are, so far, all from the same family. Each book can be read as a stand alone. the family is in all the books but you aren’t left confused if you start in the middle of the series.I loved Trey and Sara together! They are so sweet and the vibe they give off is just so fun to read. There is a quite a bit of them dancing around each other before things get serious but I liked it. It is pretty similar to the other de Luca brothers since they all seem to be leery of love and commitments. However Trey does take his anti-commitment to a different level. Several times he is approached but his past lovers when he is with Sara and she took it much better than I would have. In fact she never seemed all that turned off by his man-whoring past and just accepted him as he was. There were several sensitive issues in this book but it was all done very tastefully. Sara has been widowed young and while she does love her husband, she is also open to falling in love again. I liked that. Her willingness to put herself out there made her such an amazing heroine to read about. She was just genuinely a great person and even though she had her flaws, it made her real. Trey was also battling his issues but we don’t get as much of a resolution for him that we get for Sara. He has always felt guilty about his parents death since they died in a car crash coming home for him and it keeps him running from his hometown and commitment. I would have liked for him to have a conversation with Sara or his Nonna (Grandmother) in regards to his feelings but we don’t really get that.My main complaint was the way the book ended. It needed an epilogue or at least a few more pages. Its seemed to me the book ended a bit abruptly. I wanted to see if Trey did go camping with Cooper, what happened with the property in Italy? Otherwise I loved the book and this series. I love going back to St. Helena and catching up with all the characters from the previous books and seeing what’s in store for the other family members. There is only one de Luca sibling left now, the only girl and her book is next. I hope that Adair will continue with this series featuring other town members after she completes the de Luca family. It’s such a wonderful place to visit that it would be hard to say goodbye to it completely. The single mother aspect of this story kind of reminded me of the first book in the series, which I loved. Not the circumstances or anything like that, but the way the kid gets under the heroes skin so much in both books.I recently read a book that I liked...I liked the storyline, the characters and all of that. But for some reason it fell flat for me. In my review I said it didn't give me the warm fuzzy feeling. Well, this book certainly did. In fact, every book in this series so far has given me that feeling, some more than others. And honestly, that feeling is why I read romance books. It reminds me of how much I love my husband and how he makes me feel.In the other books in this series, Trey comes off as such an a**. Even more than the other brothers before they found their loves. So I was fully expecting that from him, thinking it would be made part of the conflict. Frankly, that scared me because I didn't want to hate him. No worries, I didn't hate him. In fact, he may well be my favorite brother. I wish the author would have explored his feelings a bit more where it came to his parent's accident. But even without the extra info, the point came across loud and clear.I have to add; now that we've met a few of the town's firemen I'd love to have one of them get their story told when all of the siblings (only Abby left) are done.
