Barbarian Prince (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Silly Sexy Caveman!!! 5 starsOh how I would love my own “Caveman” to call my own! WOW!!! Talk about a roller coaster ride of emotions! Who would ever think that one person could be stubborn?? But for TWO of them…AND for them to be fated for each other?!?! Well you can just imagine what hilariously stubborn actions / events / fights ensues because of their desire to “punish” each other! Well, actually you won’t be able to match what Michelle has in store for this couple! I thoroughly enjoyed the book, but even I have to admit to wanting to strangle Morrigan on more than one occasion! I loved the fact that the King & Queen were also a part of this book! I loved their story so now the chance to follow their grown princes made for even more snickers! True to form, Michelle had me enthralled from the start! Now I realize that even though this was her first book, and it has been “updated”, you can very easily see just how much talent Michelle has! I do have to admit that I also wanted to scream at Michelle for all of this wonderful, funny, hot, frustrating torture of a story! I was at the point that I was cursing my tablet & the book! Lol I almost could not take all of their stubbornness nor the ….WHOA! No spoilers here! I was sucked right in to the characters and the world that Michelle has created!!! I am very VERY happy & excited that Michelle has written a lot of books in this world, because there sure is a LOT of stories to be told and I am NOT anywhere near to leave it any time soon, or in the near future, or should I say past future?!?! But that is also another clue that points towards the wealth of talent that Michelle has. She can write numerous books in one world that no matter if you read one or all of them, they are still fresh and exciting! Although I have no idea how you could stop at just ONE though! Although I don’t want to sell her short here! Michelle truly is a very talented author who can write a various number of topics, across multiple genres and add in some hot & smexy romance and it all comes out as one terrific read that defies being classified into just one category. AND she can do this over and over again! I have read quite a few and have been entranced by every single one. She seems to have come by this gift quite naturally because I have never had one book that started off slow, or had parts that dragged out or even endings that I was disappointed with. Well other than the ending coming too soon for my liking! LOL All in all, this is another great book in an equally great series that I can’t wait to continue reading!!

To celebrate a decade of being published Ms Pillow has gone back to where it all began and has issued new anniversary editions of her famous Dragon Lords books. These expanded and slightly revised editions hopefully show the growth that the author has gone through and it's a wonderful experience for this reader as this story was the first I read by Ms Pillow and I absolutely adore the new cover artwork!Morrigan is a reporter and she's desperate to find out the truth behind Galaxy Brides and whilst she's there hopefully get an interview with one of the secretive Draig princes but when Morrigan lands on Qurilixen and is chosen by Prince Ualan it's a whole new ball game. Morrigan hadn't really expected to get chosen and is utterly confused by their strange customs when it comes to marriage but one things certain this gorgeous hunk of manhood sure knows how to treat a woman right! Of course there's also the slight issue of him shifting forms to deal with but that's nothing compared to getting used to the strange and barbaric ways of the Draig. Add in that not everyone on the planet is happy about the all too human Brides and things are about to get very complicated indeed. I loved this book when I first read it and I'm even more enamoured with this new improved and expanded version of it. I loved reading all those sexy scenes again and Ualan sure does pour on the charm , it's just a pity that his bride is so stubborn but it all adds to the fun. They share a very passionate connection but it' takes effort and honesty for their relationship to truly bloom . At times as a reader I wanted to bang their heads together but the pay off was so worth it. If you enjoy romance and a little sci fi thrown in then this book is a must read and I just love these Dragon LordsI was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review

What do You think about Barbarian Prince (2014)?

Every book I have read of her's makes me smile and laugh out loud, the heroes are very Alpha male, protective, handsome and the kind of male you want to fantazide about. Her heroines are strong, a little stubborn, curvy, independent and believable. The storyline is just the kind story you want to read in a romance. This is a very sensual, exciting, engaging, story!!The Barbarian Prince is about how Ualan and Morrigan resolve their differences and begin their life as man and wife.Ualan acts like a caveman, with his actions and words as their courtship progresses and later with his behavior. Morrigan who likes all the modern conveniences is shocked to find out that she has to clean and cook. It's hilarious to read her attempts at both she is actually a undercover reporter. Morrigan decides to pose as a prospective bride on another planet. The planet is full of handsome warriors and there are not many women. She mission wants to expose Galaxy Brides for how women are treated not get chosen for a bride.Ualan is a prince, and with his four brothers they await the brides from Earth, hoping that they will find their life mates. They are fierce and loyal warriors. They belief in the magic of the crystals to show them to their mates. When Ualan's crystal choses Morrigan she decides to plays along thinking it will get her a story about Ualan and his brothers. But when Ualan claims they are married after they lifted their masks and breaks the crystals. Morrigan has no idea that Ualan is a Prince she thinks he is a gardner and she calls him a caveman but she is highly attracted to him. As Morrigan resists him Ualan is furious that she doesn't want to be his wife.

Reporter with no questions!?!This female lead was not likeable at all! She's supposedly a clever news reporter, but yet she never asks any important or necessary questions. This woman, (if you can call her that) shows no inclination or intelligence to research and get to her new planet whatsoever. Inquisitive reporter my butt, that back story didn't fall inline with the pampered princess attitude she had from the very beginning. Spoiled, hurtful, childish, lazy, bad tempered, these were not actions of a grown, professional woman. She threw temper tantrums, destroyed his house the first day. The whining was non stop, her laziness had no bounds, and her constant crying for her robot slaves that did everything for her became very tiring. Her warrior truly was a prince, literally and figuratively. The way she acted towards him broke my heart. If it wasn't for the fact that he'd be doomed to spend the rest of his days alone, I was wishing he'd kick her to the curb. Even spending the rest of his life alone had to be better than dealing with her bipolar turnabouts. Worth a read, but be warned, she will probably make you livid.

What a great world Ms. Pillow has created with this new series The Dragon Lords! It is about four brothers, princes, and the trials and tribulations they encounter on their way to a happily ever after. All of the brothers meet their ‘life mates’ through a mail order type system where Earth women are invited to come to their planet which is mostly populated by men. There they participate in a ceremony where the men will or will not choose one of them for a bride. The series starts with the oldest brother, Ualan of Draig and his lady love, Morrigan Blake. She is an undercover reporter just trying to get an insider look at the whole system and royal family when she gets chosen to be a mate of Ualan. Ualan chooses Rigan as his mate after his crystal glows when he first sees her. In his culture, the glowing crystal is proof that they have met their perfect mate.I really enjoyed this book. Rigan and Ualan are so funny. They are constantly fighting and then making out and then fighting more. Rigan doesn’t understand the pull that she has to Ualan and he doesn’t want to share too much because he is afraid he will scare her off. I loved how they continue to dance around each other while their feelings grow over the course of a few weeks. Pillow does a great job of describing the world Ualan lives on in subtle ways that help the reader keep a picture in their heads. I don’t read many books that take place on other planets so I enjoyed how seamlessly the descriptions were included so I never forgot that the book took place on a distant planet.Overall I really enjoyed this book and I am very excited to read the rest of the series. All of the brothers and their wives are mentioned in this book so I think it will be interesting to go back and read the other stories from their perspective but over the same time period.
