Atlantis World, The (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

Well, having made it through the first two books, I took a chance and decided to go ahead with the last one just to see how it all ends? I should have just left the outcome to my imagination! This third book took it so far overboard into the sci-fi and other worlds that it almost lost me halfway through it. The only redeeming quality to it was that we did see some of the once redeeming aspects of the supposed villains. I say supposed villains because it turns out that they weren't really villains per say... and it seems that everyone had some blame to share in the blunders.I have to say that the end was probably the most disappointing and most thrown together part by far. After all of the world destruction, all of a sudden everyone is living pretty much happily ever after? I would have expected them to at least have struggle for survival in what's suppose to be left of our world... But, nope not really, they're all happy and going on with their lives?! What do You think about Atlantis World, The (2000)?

Well I have to admit that I am amazed that I finished the trilogy, but I had to find out the ending for all mankind. Again it’s hard going, finding out who’s who, the chamber of dreams & other Atlanteans past lives. Dorian killing Ares 100 times really! This book is set in space like Star Wars etc. many books fall into some kind of the theme. Then David falls into the first ring of Saturn and meet what I would call the Borg from Star Trek wanting to assimilate everything that does not comply. Then comes the war.... David & Kate are reunited to a brave new world or whatever. The books fall into many other books that I have read and SyFy movies however this was really hard work comprehending it.

This one is a departure of sorts from the first two books. Much of it takes place in space. Ties everything together by filling us in on the nature and origins of the Atlantis race, their enemies, and what all their meddling in human evolution was for. I found the story to be a bit rushed, as if the author were in a hurry to finish. I find in general that it is a rare three volume story that gets better with each new book. For me, this story kind of plateaued with the first volume, and dropped off a little in the 3rd and final volume. All and all, still a very interesting story blending science fact, fiction, legend, history and folklore.

And done. Not sure why I felt I had to finish this series, but did, and it was just so-so.
—Cyndy

Tedious and tiresome. Complexity of plot line to the point of being unreadable.
—Corie

A fun read... sci-fi series with lots of genetics info.
