A Suitor For Jenny (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

This was a slight but charming little novel. Three sisters arrive in Rocky Creek with the intention of finding husbands for the younger two. It is a story of finding your way back to God and putting your trust in Him, that He has a plan for every life. It is a story of redemption through His grace and the love of good people. Very predictable but that is part the charm. You know just what to expect and are not disappointed. I call this type of reading "brain candy." Not really nourishing, but so sweet while you are reading. I enjoyed reading A Suitor for Jenny. The heroine deeply loved her sisters and arrived at Rocky Creek to find them suitable husbands. Jenny would stop at nothing to ensure they would be well taken care of. She possessed an admirable inner strength, but pride was her downfall. The hero, Rocky Creek's no nonsense sheriff, Rhett Armstrong was one tough cowboy who cared for the people in town, especially two neglected waifs. The characters were very believable and the action kept me turning pages. Ms. Brownley's use of humor sprinkled through the story made me chuckle. The authentic western narrative made me feel as though I were strolling down the streets of a real old western town, witnessing the characters of the story. A very enjoyable read, highly recommended.
