A Hidden Affair. By Pam Jenoff (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

Quite a 'nice' read....probably not the comment expected after the blazing credits on the book, 'an edge-of-the -seat ending...an antidote to James Bond'...Yes, it is a spy novel...the author's penchant to tell the story in back-to-front snippets is confusing and makes reading abit of a chore. Yes, it picks up about 1/2 way thru when some of the snippets start to fall into place...Female spy called, Jordan Weiss...incredibly incredulous plot...Her relentless devotion to a deceased former boyfriend which has kept her from any other further attachment for ten years...she has resigned her spy-job and sets off on a global mission to find him when she hears that he never did die....( no, funeral info. given)...within a week she has fallen in love with someone else on his trail...and so when she does meet him, she's 'over him' LOL!!!!N.B. Cambridge/Greece/Monaco/CIA...FBI...Mossad...MI5/MI6...who knows...a secret and completely unbelievable Cambs. old-boy network ofwitness protection...Nazi ....bishbashbosh Having thoroughly enjoyed Pam Jenoff's other 3 novels, especially The Officer's Lover which is the prequel to this, I had been waiting to read this for over a year! I was not disappointed! The author kept the suspense going throughout the story, right down to the last bottle of wine!!She develops her character, Jordan, nicely as we go through the book and I would say gives us a satisfactory conclusion to questions requiring an answer and the "what next?" which was certainly on my tongue as the book drew to its climax.Very much recommend and hope Ms Jenoff writes more if she finds time with a new baby!!

What do You think about A Hidden Affair. By Pam Jenoff (2011)?

I enjoyed this book. A little bit of mystery, a little bit of romance -- nice summer read.

Not one of jenoff's best. Less history in this one than most of her books. Predictable.

A fun, quick read. A decent beach book.
