Jack McQueen gets a cry for help from Murphy, a former partner in the force. He comes out of recuperative isolation to investigate the covered-up murder of a prominent surgeon. Things become violent when Jack and Murphy re-visit the crime scene. Jack is left for dead, and Murphy goes into a coma.
