Overview

When Private Enquiry Agent Oz Blackstone opens the door of the flat in Ebeneezer Street, the sight that greets him isn't quite what he's looking for.
Diminutive stockbroker Willie Kane - reclining on the bed with a large knife still embedded in him - is clearly no longer in a position to assist Oz in recovering the nine hundred grand he's stolen and secreted in a numbered Swiss bank account. Nor is Oz going to get any assistance from Willie's partner in crime, aspiring film actress Dawn Phillips, who seems to have flown the coop.
Oz's finder's fee is beginning to look a distant prospect - when in walks Dawn's blonde, brown-eyed sister, Primavera Phillips. The trouble is, Prim Phillips is the most irresistible woman Oz has ever seen. She also has the key to opening the Swiss account . . .

JUN/JUL 03 - AudioFile

Oz Blackstone, a private “enquiry agent,” usually works for businesses, insurance companies, and brokerage firms. When he arranges to meet stockbroker and embezzler Willie Kane, he’s horrified to find him dead, and his accomplice, Dawn Phillips, nowhere to be found. Blackstone meets Dawn’s sister, and the two, immediately attracted to each other, set out on the trail of Dawn and a Swiss bank account. Joe Dunlop provides an excellent mix of spot-on British and Scots voices. He gets everything else right, too--the suspense, humor, and romance. Seamlessly narrated, with great timing, this production will hook listeners from the first word. S.S.R. Winner of AudioFile Earphones Award © AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine
