The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I love me some high fantasy. I also love the Twilight Saga. So, naturally I loved this brick of a companion. The Twilight Saga: The Ultimate Guide is useful for several reasons:1) If a burglar were to come trooping into your home, ready to steal your MacBook Air (among other prized possessions) you can just drop this baby on their head-- knock 'em out cold.2) If you adore Twilight and are craving Stephenie's writing and/or the beloved characters from your teenage (or in my case, tweenage) years, cracking open this companion novel will satisfy you. It answers all of your questions... and more. I now know so much about the Twilight Saga I fear I may accidentally write my Greek Mythology paper on vampires because the world of Twilight takes up so much space in my brain. Ever wanted to know all the specific types of cars Edward has ever gifted, owned, or collected, including their gas mileage and weight of their bumper? You'll find it here. How tall exactly is Carlisle? Meyer has provided very detailed descriptions of the Cullen Clan, including their backstory and all the small details in between. The best part of this companion was either a) the outtakes (scenes not included in the original finished novel) b) the timeline and key plot points of every book and everything that happens in them or c) the fan art gallery. Meyer also painstakingly writes out everything that you could ever possibly need to know about her word of vampires, werewolves, and the Volturi. Pictures drawn by professionals adorn the pages, and a long-- but interesting-- interview between herself and fellow best author friend Shannon Hale takes part. I read almost the entire 75-100 page interview. All in all, this was fabulous. Stephenie really should write more. I love her. This book is a pretty good book, if you aren't a huge fan of the twilight saga, you may not be interested in it. I found the book interesting, especially when they displayed background information on all the characters and added sketches of what Stephanie Meyer visioned what some of the characters would look like in the book. It had information about everything, including each vehicle of each character! It's a wonderful read and a great companion to the book series. :)
