Generally speaking, I absolutely hate YA novels. Most that I have read have just been regurgitated versions of Twilight; and, let's face it, Twilight itself was horrible. The Conduit was nothing like Twilight. Klutzy, petite, average Celeste is used to being overshadowed by her jock older brother and dancer younger sister. When Celeste accidentally triggers powers in herself and her siblings, it appears the trend toward obscurity will continue, as she sits on the sidelines and watches her siblings train in using their much cooler, and active, powers. Add in shape shifting panthers, dragons, and a cute boy? Celeste's summer quickly turns into one she won't soon forget. BTW, this book was free from Amazon, but I wouldn't have minded paying full price. 4.5 StarsCeleste and her siblings have just moved in with their grandma in Tennessee, now strange things are happening and they are about to get stranger. After pricking her finger on a Gryphon Statue they begin getting abilities and find out about their destiny to save the world. Finding out what they are ment to do is just the beginning figuring out how to do it is a whole other story.Celeste is trying to understand who she is and her new role, but while doing that she doesn't allow anyone to tell her what to do even when it gets her into trouble. And between her and her sibblings they are trying to save the world and not go insane in the process.I enjoyed the world created with interesting characters and a great plot line. And then there's the FUNNY parts and I'm not just talking hahaha I'm talking rolling on the floor laughing so hard you're in danger of peeing your pants, kinda laughing. When things are looking at their worst for our heros they don't get scared they get candid throwing out lines to make you laugh left and right. Loved this book excited to see where this series goes.
